Start With the Basics

Q'S

Print-on-demand means your gear only gets printed once you place an order. No dusty warehouse stock. No mass-produced fast fashion chaos. Your tee gets made fresh, packed, and shipped after checkout.

Most orders take around 5–10 working days depending on the garment, print method, and how wild the current order queue is. Bigger or custom bulk orders may take longer.

Once your order ships, you’ll get tracking details so you can stalk your parcel responsibly.

Yep. We ship nationwide within South Africa.

If you’re outside SA, send us a message first and we’ll see what magic we can make happen.

Nope, Sorry.

Trippy Tees is built around streamlined online ordering and courier delivery. No awkward parking missions. No “I’m outside” WhatsApps. Your order gets delivered straight to your door.

Good question. Both are awesome — they just do different things.

DTG (Direct-to-Garment)

Best for:

  • Detailed artwork
  • Vintage or soft-feel prints
  • Artistic designs with gradients and texture
  • Cotton garments

DTG prints directly into the fabric, so the print feels softer and more natural on the shirt.

DTF (Direct-to-Film)

Best for:

  • Bright, bold colours
  • Large graphics
  • Sports-style prints
  • Polyester or blended fabrics
  • Extra durability

DTF prints are super vibrant and versatile, but they can feel slightly more “on top” of the fabric compared to DTG.

IF PRICE/COST IS AN ISSUE: DTF IS THE ANSWER!

So which one should I choose?

  • Want a softer, premium streetwear feel? → DTG
  • Want bold colours and maximum punch? → DTF
  • Not sure? We’ll help you choose the best option for your design!

No minimums for standard print-on-demand orders.
One shirt? Cool.
Fifty shirts? Also cool.

For larger wholesale or bulk production runs, pricing gets better as quantities increase. – Please enquire about the price for larger print runs.

Not if you treat your tee properly.

Care instructions:

  • Wash cold
  • Wash inside out
  • Don’t iron directly on the print
  • Avoid nuclear-level tumble drying

Good care = longer-lasting prints and happier shirts!

Almost — but not perfectly.

Different screens display colours differently, and fabric absorbs ink differently from digital displays. Slight variations are normal in the print world.

Definitely. We can help with:

  • Brand merch
  • Staff uniforms
  • Band merch
  • Event shirts
  • Creator merch
  • Streetwear drops

If you’ve got a weird idea, we’re probably interested.

Absolutely. We’re not here for paper-thin bargain-bin T-shirts that twist into abstract art after one wash.

Our standard tees are:

  • 100% cotton
  • Soft, breathable, and comfortable for everyday wear
  • Made locally in South Africa
  • Printed locally right here in SA

Keeping things local means better quality control, faster turnaround times, and supporting South African businesses instead of feeding the fast-fashion void.

We choose garments that work well with both DTG and DTF printing, so your designs come out looking bold, sharp, and built to survive real life — not just one Instagram photo.

PRINTING YOUR OWN T-shirt DESIGN FAQ

For best results:

  • PNG preferred – Vector files are even better
  • Transparent background
  • At least 300 DPI resolution
  • At least 1200px wide
  • High quality artwork only

If your artwork looks crunchy/pixelated when zoomed in, the print probably will too. Tiny blurry screenshots from 2014 will not survive… If you are not sure, contact us!

Yep. If your artwork needs cleanup, resizing, or setup help, we can usually assist before printing.

If your design looks cursed, we’ll tell you nicely whether we can help you save it and how much it will cost you. ☺️

Absolutely — as long as the image quality is good enough.

DTG printing is especially great for:

  • Photographs
  • Detailed illustrations
  • Colour gradients
  • Complex artwork

Low-resolution images may print blurry or pixelated, so higher quality artwork always wins.

Because this isn’t mass-produced fast fashion pumped out by a mega factory making 50,000 identical shirts.

Custom printing involves:

  • Artwork setup
  • Garment preparation
  • Individual printing
  • Quality checking
  • Small batch production

Every order is made specifically for you — not pulled off a dusty shelf.
